Having a fuse installed close to the battery is extremely important to protect the wiring up to the device in case of a short. You will blow a fuse instead of potentially starting a fire, in case of current over-draw or short circuit.
 
This small-size fuse holder is built to withstand extreme environments found on a motorcycle. It uses a thick red PVC jacket to protect the copper core and the fuse is enclosed with a tight-fitting rubber cap for weatherproofing.
 
It is built with a 10AWG cable and supplied with a 20A pico-size blade fuse. Sold as a loop shown in the picture, simply cut open how you like to connect it on your custom harness.
