Ok, so you ride a big red pig?
 
Well, the Honda XR650L, like its cousins, uses a conventional fork, meaning the small tubes (the stanchions) are on the top, and the bigger diameter ones are near the wheel. This older design makes an inherently less rigid fork than modern upside-down ones.
 
What is the point of a fork brace? A fork brace or fork stabilizer prevents twisting in the forks by adding rigidity on the separate lower legs, linking them together.
 
If you ride your pig hard, you might notice a wobbly feeling at speed or less than direct control between the handlebar and the wheel.
 
Stiffen that wimpy front end, and be more confident on and off the road!

A brace provides better stability and overall better handling of your bike. This particular model also sits low enough not to touch the fender too easily.
 
Machined from solid 6061 aluminum billet stock and black anodized, this fork brace offers improved torsional stiffness over other braces while keeping a low profile / slim appearance.
 
It's done by using a total of 8 clamping bolts instead of the more common 4, plus 6 internal retaining bolts in a V pattern on each side. This allows us to offer a tall bridge between tube clamps, which means you can run knobbier / taller tires.
 
It also includes drain slots under each boot so water and mud can drain.
 
The top of the “bridge” includes threaded holes in case you want to install your fender on the brace instead of at the top of the forks (some customers who ride more on the road like this because the lower fender is not catching the wind as much).
