It's a convenient accessory for creating lash points to secure your saddlebags, panniers, dry bags and tank bags on your bike, keeping straps away from hot exhaust headers and tightening the strap's length necessary for maximum stability of your luggage.
 
These anchors work well with a 1" wide webbing strap as pictured and make a great tie-down point for ROK Straps or multi-purpose polyurethane straps like Voilé, GL Pronghorn, etc.

The tie-down anchors are small, durable, and compact. They're discreet on the bike when not used with no sharp edges to cut through your straps and weigh almost nothing.
 
These handy mounts are NOT a split design, meaning they won't release a strap inadvertently if it comes loose, AND you can use any rope diameter, hooks, and tow straps.  A split design anchor may save you a few seconds mounting your bags, but it is only useful for a specific size strap.
