Are you looking to improve your brake performance and feel on your Kawasaki KLR650 Gen2?

As your bike ages, the factory rubber lines may have softened, and they become more prone to swelling when under the pressure of braking. This can feel like the brakes are "soft" and don't respond as quickly or sharply.

HEL Performance lines are stainless steel braided brake lines that provide a quicker, firmer, more consistent response by maintaining constant brake pressure and providing precision brake modulation.

The brake lines consist of a PTFE (Teflon) inner line that carries the brake fluid, then covered with a layer of stainless steel woven braid. The PTFE tube is resistant to expansion under pressure and will not degrade from exposure to brake fluid over time.

The braided stainless steel supports the PTFE, and the weave is extremely durable against incidental impact and abrasion. Next, the stainless braided hose is coated with an abrasion-resistant PVC cover for maximum protection against chaffing.

Each HEL Performance brake line kit is assembled in Canada from the finest quality components manufactured in the Exeter factory in the UK.

These kits come with everything you need for a straight swap:

  • New banjo bolts and copper washers
  • The same type of banjos (bend at master/caliper)
  • We make the front line 52" on purpose as the KLR doesn't offer much slack for risers. It will fit the same but give you more options. The rear length is the same as stock.

Stock front is 50" long and the rear is 29.5" long.

We stock the clear/transparent lines with natural stainless steel banjo kits as pictured above.

Check out our Custom Brake Line Kit if you want to choose the colour and custom lengths.

What makes HEL Performance different?

  • Lifetime warranty on all brake lines.
  • Meet and exceed regulatory requirements all over the world, making them road-legal anywhere (DOT, TUV, Dekra, FMVSS-106, SAE, KBA, ADR, NHTSA, Israel MoT, and NZTA)
  • Stainless steel fittings (most competitors use zinc plated fittings which are at risk from corrosion).
  • Most brake line manufacturers use a fitting tail with serrations that cut or push into the hose wall. If turned, the serrations can cut into the PTFE, making a hole or allowing the fitting to detach from the hose. HEL Performance features three indents which means that when the hose is swaged, the PTFE gets pushed into the fitting. This creates three 'o-rings' of PTFE, which offers an exceptional seal and means that the fitting can be rotated in the hose without the loss of integrity of the brake line.

Practically speaking, this means that you can spin the banjos on the line "in situ" for the best fit possible. It also means you can buy a brake line without knowing the orientation of the banjos.
