The Yamaha TW200 comes with a set of soft springs designed to be a "one size fits all" solution for Yamaha's vision of an “average” rider.
 
You most likely do not fit within this portrait of the average rider, and you will benefit from selecting a set of fork springs that best suit your personal needs and preferences.

Typical recommendations:
The stock spring rate on the T-Dub varies around 0.45 to 0.50 kg/mm depending on the year.
The Cogent Dynamics fork springs are available in 0.60 kg/mm and 0.70 kg/mm straight rates.
 
By getting springs with a .60 kg/mm rate, the fork will be about 20% stiffer than the stock and work well for most riders under 200lbs (without gear).
 
For riders over 200 lbs. or those that prefer a firmer ride,  the 0.70 kg/mm rate is a better fit.
